Wide open and unattended?

Our compound is unstaffed, so we are all dependent on each other to help keep both our own boats and the club's facilities secure from theft, vandalism and animal access.

Most members are rightly conscientious about this, so it was therefore very disappointing to hear from Alice Roat this morning (7th May) that:

"I have just arrived at POG (0734 hrs) to find the gates left wide open and the fire exit to the clubhouse wide open and the clubhouse door unlocked. There is no sign of any person in the clubhouse, 5 cars in the car park 4 of which I know who's they are and 3 of which are out sailing.

I am unsure how long the gate and clubhouse had been left unsecured."

Please do your bit by always leaving the main gates locked and the clubhouse doors closed (and also locked, if you are the last one around).
