Captain Carl Robins is a Southampton Marine Pilot and has been for the last 16 years. He has been a mariner since 1990 after he left school. He sailed on large container ships around the world and then moved to cross channel ferries running out of Portsmouth where he sailed as a Captain.

As a Marine Pilot he now bring some of the largest ships in the world through the Solent and safely into the port of Southampton. The Solent is a busy area of water and keeping it a safe environment for both shipping and leisure craft is part of his daily routine as a pilot."
