Mike Finch passed away peacefully on Wednesday 12th June, just two months after the death of his dear wife, Pat.
His funeral service will be held in the Wellington Chapel, Easthampstead Park Crematorium, South Road, Bracknell, Wokingham RG40 3DW, at 12:00 midday on Monday 15th of July.
Following the service, there will be a gathering at the adjacent Downshire Golf Club, Easthampstead Park, West Road, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 3DH, to celebrate his life, enjoy a light lunch, and raise a glass or two in his honour.
Mike's family extend an invitation and a warm welcome to everyone who would like to attend.
Mike was the original Marine Facilities Manager, a post set up when it became clear that Moorings and Facilities needed to be separated as the club grew. It was he who set up the current framework, the basis of which is still used today.
His contribution to POG and the membership over many years was recognised when he received the RYA Lifetime Commitment Award from the Princess Royal.
Mike Finch exemplified the spirit of the club with his "can do" philosophy and humour.
I'm sure like me, many of us have very fond memories of Mike and the friendship he showed to all.
