Programme Latest Updates

This section will provide regular updates to members on the status of this major capital project being undertaken by POG in the Autumn of 2025. Please come back to it on a regular basis if you are interested in the project latest news and particularly if you berth in Weevil, as it will undoubtedly affect you!

April 2025

The Club have finally received the necessary permissions that enable the project team to start discussing with the dredging company, dates for when Weevil Lake might be dredged. These dates are very much on the critical path. Until they are known, liaison with Walcon, the company replacing the pontoons and already under contract, cannot take place.

A new update will appear in the May 2025 newsletter which will build on the presentation to members by the Treasurer and Moorings Officer at the AGM.

May 2025

This month the contract of the dredging has been signed and Walcon have been updated about this. The precise date for the dredging is not known but is planned for Mid November. Prior to that the pontoons will need to be removed along with all the fixtures and services. Walcon are well into planning the manufacture of the new pontoons - we have been told that the surface for the pontoons has been shipped.

Planning for where boats will be relocated will commence in August once everyone has booked their winter intentions and we know who will be ashore or going elsewhere.

June 2025

Below is a table of the PROVISIONAL dates as they are known at the moment, but please note these are subject to change as the planning matures. You will see that POG will be very busy at this time and parking could well be at a premium with members having to make use of the grass outside.
