This popular and long-standing annual POG rally is back again and will take place over the weekend from Saturday 4th to Sunday 5th July 2026.
For those that have not come along before, this is the the time not to be shy, as this is a wonderful way to meet others in a fun, relaxing and informal way, whether you are new to sailing or not. I have opened the Crew Finder option for this event. Please can I ask those POG members with boats who will be attending and are happy to offer a spare berth, to register as looking for crew on the website for this event under 'boats needing crew'. Likewise, members who my wish to attend but without a boat, register on the 'crew looking for boats'.
The itinerary as in previous years, will be to rendezvous on Saturday with drinks and nibbles on the pontoon from 1800hrs, after which we will hop onto the water taxi to take us across to the Folly Inn. A reservation has booked in The Folly Inn for 2000hrs. Members will be responsible for paying for their own food /drinks in the restaurant. Berthing will be on the Midstream pontoons opposite the Folly Inn. The current rate for the Midstream berthing is £3.00 per metre per night and payable direct to the Harbour Master.
There is a water taxi which ferries people from the Midstream pontoons to The Folly Inn. Folly Launch Return Fare for 2025 was £5.00, (it is a good idea to have some cash).
On Sunday there will be an optional fun event such as a quiz to which most crews complete en route back to POG, followed by a BBQ in the afternoon and a presentation of prizes. Please bring your own food and drinks for the BBQ.
There will be a charge of £5.00 per person, which covers the pontoon nibbles/canapés/refreshments, prizes, admin etc. I know this is an increase from last year but due to increased food and drink costs, I have had no choice, however I'm sure all those that have attended before will still feel this is excellent value for money and if so please spread the news for this event to your fellow members.
To secure a place please log onto the POG website and select how many tickets you require against the event, you must then follow this up by sending an email to complete the registration requirements, you will be sent an entry form to be completed by return.
