Portsmouth Offshore Group Ltd (POG) has moorings of various kinds to accommodate a wide range of craft, as well as providing different levels of affordability.

In Weevil Lake pontoons have both water and electricity supply with walk-ashore access to the Club car park.

In Haslar Creek we have 6 berths on a mid-stream pontoon, accessed by dinghy from Hornet Sailing Club. JSSA (Joint Services Sailing Association). There is dinghy storage for berth holders and there is access to reasonably priced bar and meal facilities in Hornet Sailing Club House.

At Wicor Reach there are more midstream pontoon moorings situated with secure access through the Standard Aero (formerly known as Fleetlands) site on Fareham Road.

Swinging moorings are situated to the north east of Burrow Island and can be accessed via POG’s main Weevil Lane Sailing Centre with storage for dinghies and a slipway.

Swinging moorings

All our moorings allow access to the Solent and Isle of Wight for cruising and travel further afield without having to use tidal locks.

We have a specially built Club House which includes private and spacious toilet and shower facilities, large kitchen /galley facilities with fridge, freezer, oven, microwaves. These can be a great help to those with smaller boats who prefer to cook or shower away from their boat.

There’s a spacious and well-appointed meeting room upstairs for members’ use, with views across Portsmouth Harbour and Weevil Lake moorings. It can seat up to 90 people for both club and private functions and it enjoys the benefit of its own adjacent, dedicated kitchen for preparing food and drinks.

The Club House has a disabled friendly access, including a stair lift to the upper floor. There is also a club workshop with benches, vices and stand drill for members to use.

There is ample parking for members and friends. The substantial, steel security gates provide protection for cars and vessels stored ashore in the yard. Additionally, overflow parking is provided on the grass outside of the gates, adjacent to Gosport Cruising Club.

Part of this secure site is compacted stone. This is where we store boats both overwinter and during short seasonal lifts. The club can store nearly 50 boats ashore during the winter lift.

The club owns a tractor and Roodberg trailer which are used for the lift and launching of boats. This equipment is operated by club members in co-ordinated work parties. A range of boat cradles are available for members to hire whilst their boat is stored ashore.
